Available Potential Show/Breeding Dogs

After much deliberation decided to sell Kip, either as a family pet or a show potential dog. He has been DNA tested PRAcord1 NORMAL. At six and a half months of age he weighs a healthy 4290g (9 lb 7.2 oz).

Kip has the personality we would like all our dogs to have ... adores people, great with other dachsies - unsure around the bigger dogs though he was content to share some bait with a Rough Collie and another time with a gentle giant, a Wolfhound. He's a lover not a fighter but he's no doormat, he will stand up for himself. He has coat that will definitely have to be "tamed"! I'd taken out a LOT of coat for this picture and still more needs to be stripped ... and he just loves the attention that comes with grooming so will stay there for hours letting you work on him :)

Pamadron Black Onyx; Ony is a delightful little girl! She loves to play with toys and will amuse herself for hours. She gets along well with the other pups and is very respectful of the older girls. Though our smallest she can be a bit of a bully with the other pups who tend to just give her a look as if to say "are you kidding?" She sleeps in her own little crate, with her dolly, but she would much rather be in bed with her human (someone showed her that trick when she was visiting - she didn't learn it here!) Ony showed herself to be a very adaptable girl in a recent outing; very curious about new surroundings, adjusting quickly to new sights, sounds and people. She's a little girl with an excellent appetite and should mature to less than ten pounds.

If you hear a funny squeak, almost the sound of a kitten, after meals - and Ony is in her crate with her dolly - you can stop looking for an intruder pussy cat! It's just Ony :)

Pamadron Stella's Legacy; Madison is a super little girl, no shy and retiring lass here though it did take her a moment or two more than her half sister, Ony, to get into the swing of things in new surroundings. This little one if full of spunk holding her own well against even the largest of the older girls. Madison, as all the pups, is now fully crate-trained however it's not her favourite place to be. She's another, like Ony, who delights in teasing the humans in her life. She does come well when called and is learning manners on the leash. Madison would do well in an active to moderately-active home and, we believe, would be a very good dog for obedience/rally obedience training.

Pamadron Alexandrite; Zander is a handsome little fella with a delightful sense of humour! He gets along well with the other pups and he, too, has learned his manners with the older girls in the kennel. As with all the pups, he loves his outdoors time, running and jumping or laying in the shade of the tree. We would expect Zan to mature to 10 - 10.5 pounds. We believe Zander would do well in an active to moderately active home, either as an only dog or with a female companion, preferably no young children.

Price: $1000 Special price extended to December 30th only $750 each on a non-breeding contract.
Pricing Policy: a 10% reduction in price on the second dog if purchased within a year;
20% off the second dog if two, pups or retired dogs, are purchased at the same time.

Fern is a great little girl who, due to complications, had to be spayed on the birth of her first litter April 8th. She gave us three beautiful little pups; a little pale red girl, Tika, who we hope will take her dam's place in our show/breeding program, and two handsome boys!

Fern is an independent girl, smart as a whip - too much so! She's an avid hunter but will return on recall once you've caught her attention. She gets along well with other dogs though she does bark at strange dogs that visit until she gets to know them.

"Petie" is our handsome black and cream male. A softie, a smooch, amusing and a gentle personality who's very attached to his humans; these can all be said about this wonderful little fellow. He's comes readily when called, eats well and never complains. He greets us, wagging not just his tail but his whole body, even if he just saw you ten minutes ago! A happy boy is our wonderful Petie.

We believe Pete would do well in a moderately active home, either as a single dog family or with another doggy playmate, like Fern . He's a wonderful little fellow who has regained much of his confidence in the past several months, now greeting strangers with a wet nose then romping off to play again. He loves to walk and does very well on lead. He's uncertain around strangers and strange dogs.

If, for any reason, you find you are unable to keep a dog you purchase from Pamadron Perm Reg'd (Canada) he, or she, must be returned for us to find another suitable home. The purchaser is responsible for all costs associated with transport to and from Pamadron Perm Reg'd (Canada) and must provide all registrations paperwork duly signed.

Some of the young adults you may find here are last year's pups we have decided not to add to our excellent show and breeding program others have been retired from the show-ring and active breeding. All available dogs are current on required vaccinations, are well adjusted and ready to move in, take over, just waiting to lavish love and attention to their new families for years to come! The average lifespan of Dachshunds is twelve to fifteen years. I have seen some wonderful dachsies over seventeen years old! Many of the dogs behind our dogs are now in their mid to late-teen years - a testimony to careful breeding and excellent care throughout their lifetimes.

Though we would love to be able to keep all the dogs this is just not feasible. We are limited to the number of dogs we can keep and ensure they receive the attention they so richly deserve. From time to time we may have older retired dogs looking for the right home who may not be listed here. If your family is interested in giving a wonderful home to an older dog please ask for information on who might be available or who we plan to retire in the next months.

What you can expect when you are looking into adding a Pamadron puppy or retired dog to your home: Please don't be surprised when you're asked a lot of questions about you, your family's experiences with dogs, where you live, whether or not you have a securely fenced in yard, who will be the primary care-provider for the dog and many other questions. The answers to these questions will help us make sure you get the right puppy/dog for you and your family, your lifestyles, hopes and aspirations for the new pup/dog. After you've made the initial contact it's a simple process. Step number one is the questionnaire; please take the time to read it over carefully and to answer all questions; just cut and paste into your email program. Step two is a more personal contact via telephone when we can get to know each other better and the third step is often a visit to our home so you can see our dogs, how they're raised and we get to see how the dogs respond to you and your family. In cases where a personal visit is not possible, such as when we live too far apart, then follow ups with continue via telephone and email. We will ask for references both from your veterinarian and at least one other person be that someone you've trained your other dog(s) under or someone who has known you and your family for a reasonable length of time.

Traditionally we have required all our puppies, male or female, sold as family companions be spayed or neutered prior to one year of age. Recent scientific studies have shown that it may be preferable, in some instances, to wait until the pup is older before considering spaying or neutering. The decision to spay or neuter should be based on the merits of each individual case taking into consideration a number of criteria including, but not exclusive to, the specific breed and family history. We have recently modified our spay/neuter policy to reflect some of the known risk factors in our chosen breed so our dogs may enjoy longer, healthier lives. Our dogs are "house aware". WE DO NOT GUARANTEE HOUSE-TRAINED. There will be a period of adjustment regardless how good they may be in our home. Following a regular feeding and exercise routine, especially in the early days, will help in the adjustment from our home to yours.

In the case of puppies we cannot guarantee mature weight. We can only estimate what we would expect him or her to grow to depending on their lineage.

We do not guarantee any dog will gain a conformation championship, obedience or other performance title.

Prices: The price range for our pups is $950 - $1300 (exclusive of transportation) as family pets, depending on their lineage. Our pups come with an extensive health guarantee backed by years of tested healthy, breeding stock. Older pets, retired show/breeding dogs will often be spayed/neutered prior to leaving our establishment. They will have been given sufficient time to recover completely from surgery before joining their new homes. The cost of spaying/neutering a dog locally averages $350, sometimes more depending on the age of the dog, this cost is considered in the prices as stated above. If you are looking for a cheaper family pet we suggest looking at your local shelter or Dachshund rescue. The price of a puppy/dog, most often of unknown origins, at the local branch of the OSPCA is $285; the price for a cat is $195.

Transportation costs: Airfare typically costs $225 - $275 shipped from Syracuse, NY to most US cities. Added to the base cost of airfare is the purchase of a crate as well as the price of a health certificate required by all airlines plus tolls and ground travel.

We will not knowingly sell to pet stores, resellers, agents or mass producing facilities nor those who supply such facilities.
